The TM-Europe conferences bring together and address the needs of translation and localization service providers, their customers, as well as translation vendors, technology providers and academics traditionally focusing on management issues for the translation and localization industry. The theme of TM-Europe 2008 was customers, vendors and process management from the global and the local perspective. The theme of TM-Europe 2009 was quality and terminology management.

LISA Forum: Building Quality, Building Customers

- ELIA Networking Days Dublin Presentation: TermWiki

Carl Yao, Executive Vice President of Global Strategy at CSOFT, will give a presentation on TermWiki at the European Language Industry Association Networking Days in Dublin. In his presentation, Carl will show how the Wiki-based system utilizes Web 2.0’s main strength – real time, cloud-based collaboration - to streamline terminology management workflows, leading to maximized efficiency, consistency and accuracy of expression across languages and domains.

- PROZ Webinar: Reining in the Cloud—A Call for Managed Collaboration

In “Reining in the Cloud”, CSOFT’s Chief Terminologist and Director of MedL10N, Uwe Muegge, will discuss the role of cloud sourcing in the localization process and, specifically, how it relates to translation software. Muegge will propose that a managed collaborative model is the only sound method of harnessing the “power of the cloud” for use in multilingual localization.

January 13, 2011
Carl Yao, Executive Vice President of Global Strategy at CSOFT, will give a presentation on “Translation Tools in the Crowd” at the IMUG event in January. He will discuss TermWiki, the off-the-shelf technology for terminology management that allows users to develop, manage and translate terminology in a structured collaborative environment, as well as ReviewIT, the localization industry’s first web-based, collaborative document review and annotation platform. IMUG is comprised of engineering, language and business professionals such as software developers, localization software engineers, internationalization architects, software QA testers, technical writers, translators, interpreters, product managers, international business people and other professionals and academics.
